What happens to all the milk jugs that have been recycled throughout the years? Since1990 the high performance potential of recycled plastic has been used in outdoor applications. Poly-Wood's founders discovered the extrusion of pellets from recycled milk jugs into plastic lumber. Once destined for landfills, milk jugs are transformed into recycled plastic lumber used to create our casual outdoor furniture.

Over time, this plastic lumber, known as Poly-Wood, has proved to be unaffected by the sun, rain, snow, sleet, wind, saltwater, chlorine and mildew. The very nature of Poly-Wood keeps the color from fading and is heavy duty so it isn’t blown around by the slightest breeze. It is assembled using stainless steel hardware that has an additional protective Xylan coating. Poly-Wood is nonporous so the furniture can be left outside year round, no matter the climate. Regular, easy maintenance with soap and water keeps it clean and enjoyable for countless seasons.

The hardware used in the assembly and construction of our furniture is an 18-8 commercial grade stainless steel that has an additional “Xylan” protective and cosmetic coating. Although the quality of the hardware has a high level of corrosive resistance, the hardware can show some sign of corrosion in salt air environments.

A practical solution to these signs of corrosion would be to wash the product with soap and water. Use a soft bristle brush to scrub the corroding areas of the hardware. Also, use appliance touch up paint in the appropriate color to protect the hardware. Appliance touch up paint can be purchased at local hardware stores.

Product Warranty

Poly-Wood Inc. warranties to the original purchaser, that for a period of five (5) years for residential use (three (3) for commercial use) from the date of purchase against any defects in the manufacturing and workmanship of the furniture components. “Defects” is defined as imperfections that impair the original function of the product. This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear effects on the furniture, which is received by regular use of the furniture. Neither does it cover damage due to unauthorized repairs or alterations, negligence, misuse or abuse, improper assembly and acts of God. This warranty does not apply to the hardware used to assemble the furniture.

The original purchaser is responsible for providing Poly-Wood, Inc. with the proper documentation needed to determine a resourceful solution to the defect. Possible solutions are replacement or repair of defective furniture, replacement or repair of defective component or authorization to have product repaired by a third party. The proper documentation requires providing the proof of purchase with the original receipt and providing Poly-Wood, Inc. with a written explanation of how the defect occurred. Once the proper documentation has been received and evaluated, the consumer will be notified of the solution to the defect. If the product is returned to Poly-Wood, Inc. seven (7) or more months after the date of purchase, the consumer is responsible for all shipping charges that may apply.
